INDIBA Radiofrequency Technology

IMG-20210519-WA0001.jpg

INDIBA® is the market leader in radiofrequency devices worldwide, with over 35 years of research and experience in this technology. INDIBA Animal Health was born out of the success of our Activ device for human physiotherapy, the trusted device to support rehabilitation, recovery, performance, pain management, injury prevention and wellbeing in elite athletes and professional teams.

INDIBA animal health can help in the wellbeing of all our equine partners from elite athletes to Teddy the beloved companion Shetland.

Benefits of INDIBA:

  • Accelerate recovery of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries (tendinitis, bursitis, desmitis, muscle tears, etc)

  • Treatment of injuries in deep areas that other therapies can’t access (sacroiliac joint, deep gluteus muscles etc)

  • Osteoarthritis management

  • Pain reduction

  • Increased stride length

  • Can be used in conjunction with PRP and Stem cell injections

  • Post-surgical recovery (including presence of metal implants)

  • Wound healing

  • Improve tissue flexibility (muscles, ligaments, tendons)

  • Heat therapy (superficial and deep local hyperthermia)

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Improve muscular stability and recovery of mobility

  • Supports facilitation of manual therapy and rehabilitation exercises

I use two different handpieces to apply the current. One handpiece produces an effect of heat directly under the electrode, the other generates heat deep within the tissue.

The intended benefits of treatment can differ depending on what the pathology/ injury is and what stage of healing it is in. It can be used to prevent injury and maintain wellbeing. The electromagnetic radiofrequency 448kHz current is passed into the body via an electrode I will hold on the treatment area, and out again via a return plate that will be positioned on the horse’s sternum. The aim is to influence the body’s cells, blood flow and temperature to promote accelerated recovery and a reduction in pain.

INDIBA® has conducted safety and efficacy research. Part of this work has been completed at the University Hospital of Madrid by Dr Ubeda and his team in molecular science (cells), it has been tested directly on cancer cells, and concluded in published research that it is completely safe and does stimulate cells. Further work completed by Professor Tim Watson at the University of Herefordshire in the UK tested INDIBA on humans in a laboratory setting, this work further concluded that it is safe to be used as a treatment and is very effective at increasing blood flow and tissue temperature lasting longer than any other electrotherapy on the market. We have around 300 scientific papers. This work is published in leading journals or is part of post graduate MSc and PhD’s. The INDIBA® device under goes rigorous testing before each device leaves our manufacturing department and is CE marked.
